Offsites & Retreats catering in Los Angeles & Orange County

What it takes to cater offsites & retreats well — the logistics, the timing, and how we make it work.

An offsite runs on its meals — breakfast, lunch, breaks and often dinner, all in one day at a venue that is not your office. We cater the whole day as one plan: mixed cuisines, every diet, halal throughout, delivered and set to your agenda so the team never waits on food.

The defining fact about an offsite is that the venue is not your office, and usually has less than you assume. No kitchen, or a kitchen you are not allowed to use; one power circuit; no ice; a load-in through a side door up a flight of stairs; and frequently no tables, linen or bins beyond what the space rents you. We survey that before quoting rather than after, and bring what is missing — chafers and heat, coolers and ice, tables and linen, service ware, waste removal — as part of the plan rather than as a series of day-of discoveries. Ranch, winery, loft, park and studio venues around Los Angeles each have their own version of this, and the difference between a smooth offsite and a scramble is usually settled a week before the day.

The second thing is that an offsite is not a meal, it is a schedule: breakfast, a mid-morning break, lunch, an afternoon break and often dinner, with sessions in between that will not all start on time. We plan the whole day as one build against your agenda, so the food follows the schedule rather than the schedule bending to the food, and breaks are stocked to be walked past rather than queued for. Menus shift across the day deliberately — something lighter at lunch if the afternoon has real work in it, something more generous at dinner. Everything is halal · zabiha-sourced with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free running alongside and labeled per dish, so a full-day programme never has a meal where part of the team is improvising. Priced per guest for the day, staffed if you want the team to think about the retreat instead of the catering.

Why Carthage

Why Carthage for offsites & retreats

What you get with us for offsites & retreats specifically — not a generic catering pitch.

  • The venue surveyed before we quote

Kitchen, power, ice, load-in, tables, linen and bins checked up front — and whatever is missing brought as part of the plan, not discovered on the day.

  • The whole day as one build

Breakfast, breaks, lunch and dinner planned against your agenda, so food follows the schedule instead of the schedule bending around the food.

  • Menus that shift across the day

Lighter at lunch when the afternoon has real work in it, more generous at dinner. Breaks stocked to be walked past rather than queued for.

  • No improvised meals

Halal · zabiha-sourced throughout with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alongside and labeled per dish, at every meal of a full-day programme.

Offsites & Retreats catering runs about $24$60 per guest for food. Multiplied out, that is what a spread costs at the counts people usually ask about.

Estimated offsites & retreats catering cost by guest count — food only
GuestsEstimated food costPer guest
25$600 – $1,500$24 – $60
50$1,200 – $3,000$24 – $60
100$2,400 – $6,000$24 – $60
150$3,600 – $9,000$24 – $60

Food only. Staffing, rentals, delivery, setup and breakdown are separate lines, and a mandatory service charge and California sales tax apply on top — so the invoice for a staffed event runs meaningfully above the food figure. Smaller counts sit at the top of the band: setup and delivery cost the same at 25 guests as at 100. Every menu halal · zabiha-sourced.

Questions

Before you ask

Our venue has no kitchen. Is that a problem?
No — it is the normal case. We survey the site before quoting rather than after, and bring what is missing: chafers and heat, coolers and ice, tables and linen, service ware and waste removal. The failure mode we are avoiding is discovering a missing power circuit or a stairs-only load-in on the day.
Can you cater the whole day, not just lunch?
That is how we prefer to do it. Breakfast, a mid-morning break, lunch, an afternoon break and dinner planned as one build against your agenda, so the food follows the schedule rather than the schedule bending around the food.
Do you supply tables, linen and service ware?
Yes, as part of the plan where the venue does not. Rentals and staffing are quoted alongside the food so there is one number and one point of contact rather than three vendors to coordinate.
How far outside Los Angeles will you travel?
We cater ranch, winery, loft, studio and park venues across the LA area regularly. Tell us the venue and dates and we will confirm coverage and any travel component up front rather than at invoice.
