Catering Korean, honestly

Korean catering isn't just about the main protein — it's the ecosystem of banchan, the steam off japchae glass noodles, and the crunch of properly fried chicken wings that make the table feel abundant. At Carthage we build Korean menus around the marquee dishes Angelenos expect: bulgogi and galbi short ribs caramelized to the edge of char, dak galbi that holds its heat through service, and a build-your-own bibimbap bar that lets guests layer rice, vegetables, and gochujang exactly how they want it. Mandu dumplings, kimchi fried rice, and spicy kimchi tacos round out the spread, and every protein is halal, sourced zabiha from certified suppliers, with documentation available on request — the certificate is theirs, not ours.

Because everything comes from one chef-led kitchen, a Korean table can sit alongside Lebanese shawarma, Thai curries, or a soul food spread at the same event and price out at a single per-guest rate. Our banchan are made in-house, the steamed rice is seasoned correctly, and dietary paths are clearly marked: japchae and rice are naturally gluten-free, the bibimbap bar works beautifully for vegetarians, and hotteok sweet pancakes with mochi close the meal on a warm, chewy note. Whether it's a corporate lunch in Irvine or a wedding in downtown LA, the food lands like a proper K-BBQ house — without the tabletop grills smoking out the venue.

Korean catering runs about $17$101 per guest for food. Multiplied out, that is what a spread costs at the counts people usually ask about.

Estimated korean catering cost by guest count — food only

50$850 – $5,050$17 – $101

150$2,550 – $15,150$17 – $101

Food only. Staffing, rentals, delivery, setup and breakdown are separate lines, and a mandatory service charge and California sales tax apply on top — so the invoice for a staffed event runs meaningfully above the food figure. Smaller counts sit at the top of the band: setup and delivery cost the same at 25 guests as at 100. Every menu halal · zabiha-sourced.

Questions

Korean catering, answered honestly

What does Korean catering cost in Los Angeles?
Platters, trays and pans run $53–$290. A working spread — bulgogi, japchae and a banchan line — sits in the middle of that; the full Korean BBQ service and the build-your-own bibimbap bar sit at the top because both come staffed. Every platter states how many it serves, so a table can be priced before anything is committed.
Is the Korean menu halal — including the barbecue?
Yes, and it is the reason this menu exists. Korean cooking leans on pork harder than almost any cuisine we run, and ours does not use it at all. Galbi short ribs and bulgogi are cut from zabiha beef, the fried chicken is zabiha, and no soju, mirin or rice wine goes into a marinade. Every dish is labeled at service.
Can Korean catering run as drop-off, buffet or a live station?
All three. Japchae, kimchi fried rice and the banchan spread travel well and hold, so they suit drop-off; the BBQ runs as a staffed buffet; and the bibimbap bar and Korean BBQ work as live stations where guests build their own bowl. Tell us the format and the line is built around it.
Which Korean dishes should anchor our menu?
Bulgogi and galbi short ribs anchor nearly every Korean event we cater, with japchae and a kimchi and banchan spread carrying the table underneath them. Korean fried chicken wings are the dish guests photograph, and the build-your-own bibimbap bar is what turns a lunch into an event.
