Catering Jewish Deli, honestly

A halal Jewish deli is a rare thing, and that is the point. The deli classics — peppered pastrami, smoked brisket, matzo ball soup — are almost never available halal · zabiha-sourced, so we cook them from scratch in the same kitchen as everything else: brisket cured and smoked in-house, pastrami steamed to order, soup built on a slow-simmered stock. It is a small, focused menu rather than a full delicatessen.

This is a niche line, and an honest one: it is deli cooking done properly and halal throughout — a pastrami on the table for the guest who is used to going without. For a fuller spread it sits naturally alongside our Mediterranean and American menus, cooked by the same chef-led team under one roof.

Most of what this menu is booked for comes together quickly and feeds a room that arrives across hours rather than sitting down at once — a gathering after a service, a family lunch, an office that wanted something other than another sandwich platter. It suits that work: the boards are built to be set once and hold, pastrami and brisket are as good at room temperature as they are hot, and nothing on the table needs turning or topping up to keep looking right. Everything is labeled, whatever is left is packed for the family rather than taken away, and short notice is usually workable precisely because the menu is small and we cure and smoke the meat ourselves.

Jewish Deli for your occasion

The menu above shows à la carte platter pricing — events book as per-guest packages built on it. Choose your occasion and we’ll tailor the spread.

Jewish Deli catering runs about $44$85 per guest for food. Multiplied out, that is what a spread costs at the counts people usually ask about.

Estimated jewish deli catering cost by guest count — food only
GuestsEstimated food costPer guest
25$1,100 – $2,125$44 – $85
50$2,200 – $4,250$44 – $85
100$4,400 – $8,500$44 – $85
150$6,600 – $12,750$44 – $85

Food only. Staffing, rentals, delivery, setup and breakdown are separate lines, and a mandatory service charge and California sales tax apply on top — so the invoice for a staffed event runs meaningfully above the food figure. Smaller counts sit at the top of the band: setup and delivery cost the same at 25 guests as at 100. Every menu halal · zabiha-sourced.

Questions

Jewish Deli catering, answered honestly

What does deli catering cost in Los Angeles?
Platters and boards run $40–$160. A deli spread built on pastrami or brisket with salads, latkes and challah prices in the middle of that; the pastrami and brisket boards sit at the top. Every board states its serving count so you can build a table to a number.
What are the dietary standards on this menu?
This is a halal · zabiha-sourced kitchen and that is the standard the whole menu is held to: no pork anywhere, no alcohol in any preparation, and every dish labeled at service. We hold no certification of our own — our proteins come from certified halal suppliers, and documentation is available on request. If your event needs a dietary standard we do not meet, we will tell you at the enquiry rather than let you find out on the day.
Can deli catering run as drop-off or staffed service?
Both. Cold boards, salads, kugel and challah are built to be set once and hold for hours, which makes deli one of the better drop-off menus we run. Schnitzel, roast chicken and brisket come staffed when you want them carved and served hot.
Which deli dishes should anchor our menu?
Peppered pastrami anchors the table — it is the dish this menu exists for and the one people have usually gone without — with smoked brisket beside it and schnitzel or roast chicken where the room is mixed. Matzo ball soup opens it, latkes and potato kugel do the work underneath, and babka or rugelach closes it.
