Catering Filipino, honestly

Filipino food is built for gathering — platters that travel well, flavors that reward slow cooking, and a table meant to be shared. At Carthage we bring that spirit to catering with a spread anchored in adobo, kare-kare, and garlic fried rice, rounded out with lumpia that stays crisp, pancit bihon noodles, and longganisa sliders made from zabiha-sourced meats. The heart of our Filipino table is a halal-friendly lineup that doesn't compromise on depth: sour sinigang, tender oxtail stew, and bright atchara pickled papaya that cuts through the richness exactly when you need it.

Every tray leaves our single Los Angeles kitchen, which means Filipino dishes can share an event with Korean BBQ, Lebanese mezze, or a Vietnamese pho bar — all priced together per guest without a separate vendor fee. Dietary tags are clear: adobo and kare-kare are naturally gluten-free, pancit can go vegan or vegetarian on request, and our desserts — leche flan, ube halaya, bibingka coconut cake — are the kind of sweet finish that feels both nostalgic and new. Whether you're hosting a kamayan-style feast where guests eat off banana leaves or a plated service across LA and Orange County, the food arrives ready to bring people shoulder to shoulder.

Filipino catering runs about $25$101 per guest for food. Multiplied out, that is what a spread costs at the counts people usually ask about.

Estimated filipino catering cost by guest count — food only
GuestsEstimated food costPer guest
25$625 – $2,525$25 – $101
50$1,250 – $5,050$25 – $101
100$2,500 – $10,100$25 – $101
150$3,750 – $15,150$25 – $101

Food only. Staffing, rentals, delivery, setup and breakdown are separate lines, and a mandatory service charge and California sales tax apply on top — so the invoice for a staffed event runs meaningfully above the food figure. Smaller counts sit at the top of the band: setup and delivery cost the same at 25 guests as at 100. Every menu halal · zabiha-sourced.

Questions

Filipino catering, answered honestly

What does Filipino catering cost in Los Angeles?
Platters, trays and pans run $58–$205. Pancit, garlic fried rice and lumpia sit at the lower end; kare-kare oxtail and the larger celebration builds sit at the top. Every platter states how many it serves.
Is Filipino food halal here? It is usually built on pork.
It is, and this is where the difference shows most. Filipino cooking leans on pork more than any cuisine on this site — ours uses none. Longganisa is beef, adobo is chicken, and lumpia is filled with beef and vegetables. Everything is zabiha-sourced and no alcohol goes into a braise.
Does Filipino food work for a large party?
It is built for one. Pancit, adobo and rice scale cleanly to a few hundred and hold their quality on a line, and lumpia is the dish that disappears fastest at any size. Kare-kare and sinigang come staffed so they are served hot rather than held.
Which Filipino dishes should anchor our menu?
Chicken adobo and pancit bihon anchor nearly every table, with lumpia opening it and garlic fried rice underneath. Kare-kare oxtail is the dish that makes an occasion feel like one, and leche flan or ube halaya closes it.
