A baby shower is a daytime celebration with a specific rhythm — guests arrive across a loose window, the food needs to hold beautifully on the table for two or three hours, and nobody wants to be managing hot trays while the mom-to-be opens gifts. We build showers around grazing: a generous spread that looks abundant the moment the first guest walks in and stays that way, so the host is never refilling and the room can flow between the games, the cake, and the conversation.

Because showers skew toward brunch and afternoon, we lean into food that photographs and travels well — mezze and grazing boards, fresh salads, pastries and a sweet table, with hot options kept hot in chafers when you want them. Nearly every shower we cater is at a home in the middle of the day, and that sets the whole plan. There is no service kitchen, the host is also the hostess and should not be refilling anything, and the table doing the work is usually the dining table with a gift pile at one end. So the spread is built to be set once and hold for three hours without intervention — composed boards rather than trays that visibly deplete, food that is as good at room temperature as it was on arrival, and nothing that needs turning or topping up to stay presentable. We set it, label it and go, or leave someone quietly to keep it looking untouched and handle the clearing afterwards. The timing works backwards from the games and the cake rather than from a delivery slot, and a headcount that shifts in the final week is normal here rather than a problem.
